Health and Safety Inspections

The Environmental health officers conducted safety check inspection in some drugs and provision stores within the district to check expired drugs and food products.

The outcome of the exercise indicates that some of the provision and drug stores had expired products.

They were advised to always apply the first in first out principle (FIFO) to avoid product getting expired in their stores and also to ensure that the period between the manufacturing and expiry date is not less than one year before they purchase them.

The officers seized these expired drugs and foods products and collaborated with food and drugs authority for the destruction to these items.
