Plan International Ghana in coordination with Ekumfi District Assembly has organized a youth parliament for the kids in the assembly. Two student each were selected from 15 schools with a teacher from each of these schools as chaperons.
The District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, District Director of Education, Chief of Essarkyir and the Queen Mother and other dignitaries attended the event.
The event, which took place on June 29, 2022 in the District Assembly's Conference Hall, aimed to give marginalized children, youth, families, and communities the tools and resources they needed to end the cycle of exclusion, assert their human rights, and realize their full potential in terms of health, education, and general well-being.
After the launch of the Ekumfi District Assembly branch of Youth Parliament, the students received training in parliamentary procedures and were encouraged to address their issues within their particular constituencies.
