The Ekumfi District Assembly has handed over a newly constructed 3-unit classroom block to the Narkwa community as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning. The ceremony, held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ekumfi, Ishmaeel Nana Asamoah; Member of Parliament for the Ekumfi Constituency, Hon. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe; the Coordinating Director, chiefs and opinion leaders of Narkwa, the contractor, and officials of the District Assembly.
Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of communities through strategic investments, particularly in the education sector. He noted that the provision of quality educational facilities is essential to improving learning outcomes and urged residents and school authorities to ensure the proper maintenance of the newly completed facility.
The Member of Parliament, Hon. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, highlighted the government’s commitment to completing projects started by previous administrations while pursuing additional development initiatives for the district. He emphasised the importance of continuity in development and pledged his support towards attracting more projects that would improve infrastructure and enhance the welfare of residents.
The chiefs and opinion leaders of Narkwa expressed their appreciation to the Ekumfi District Assembly and other stakeholders for the project, pledging their commitment to protecting and maintaining the facility. The handing-over of the classroom block forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to expand educational infrastructure and promote sustainable development across communities in the Ekumfi District.
