The Ekumfi District Assembly has held an engagement with premix fuel stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration, improve accountability, and ensure the effective management and distribution of premix fuel within the district. The engagement, which took place at the Assembly Hall on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, brought together key stakeholders in the premix fuel supply chain, including representatives from fishing communities, premix fuel operators, traditional leaders, and relevant officials of the Assembly.
The meeting was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ekumfi, Ishmaeel Nana Asamoah, who led discussions on issues affecting the smooth operation of premix fuel distribution and the need for stakeholders to work together to address challenges in the sector.
Addressing participants, the DCE emphasised the importance of transparency, fairness, and accountability in the allocation and sale of premix fuel, particularly given its critical role in supporting the livelihoods of fisherfolk and other actors within the local fishing economy. He urged stakeholders to prioritise the interest of the fishing community and ensure that premix fuel reaches its intended beneficiaries without unnecessary delays or challenges.
The engagement also provided a platform for stakeholders to share concerns, discuss operational challenges, and propose solutions aimed at improving the availability and management of premix fuel across the district.
Officials assured participants of the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders to promote sustainable development and support economic activities within the district.
